Want to become a Creative School?
Creative Schools 2025 will open for application in springtime of 2025. The deadline for 2024 schools has closed.
Creative Schools Supports primary and post-primary schools and Youthreach centres across Ireland to put arts and creativity at the hears of children's and young people's lives. Schools and Youthreach centres that join the programme take part in a two-year guided journey to develop a Creative Schools Plan unique to their own school, and to put it into action. Children and young people’s involvement in planning, decision-making
and reflection is central to the journey.
We offer three main practical supports:
- We assign a Creative Associate to work with you to support your Creative Schools journey for two academic years
- We provide training
We provide a €4000 grant towards activity arising from your Creative Schools Plan.
For more information on the award and how to apply, we have a Creative Schools Clinic Presentation available in both English and Irish.
Access Costs:
The Arts Council is committed to making our funding programmes, and the
work that we fund accessible to everyone.
The Arts Council takes the definition of disability from the UN Convention on
the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, which states: ‘Persons with disabilities
include those who have long-term physical, mental, intellectual or sensory
impairments which, in interaction with various barriers, may hinder their full
and effective participation in society on an equal basis with others.' Access costs can include both personal access costs as well as costs for making your school's Creative Schools work accessible to all involved.
