Festival of traditional music explores diversity and innovation at the National Concert Hall
The Arts Council in partnership with the National Concert Hall presents Tradition Now, a week-long festival of forward looking traditional music , which takes place 3-8 October 2017 at the National Concert Hall (NCH).

The festival provides a platform for international collaboration and creative and innovative new work by a range of established and contemporary artists, including acclaimed Irish band Lankum, Galician piper Carlos Nuñez and Gaelic singer from the Outer Hebrides Julie Fowlis. Singers Luke Cheevers and Fergus Russell will lead ‘Traditional Tea Dance Tunes’ for people living with dementia, their carers and families. The Far Field by Thomas Johnston will be presented for very young audiences to enjoy, and there will also be a special Family Day with Ceol le Chéile.
Tradition Now celebrates the successes evident in Arts Council investment in the traditional arts in recent years and is a strategic objective of Making Great Art Work.
