Welcome to our first blog of 2024!
Meet the Arts Council events
The EDI team have been busy over the past few weeks, with the Meet the Arts Council events! It’s been wonderful to meet and talk to such a diverse range artists and organisations. We travelled to VISUAL Carlow, Triskel Arts Centre in Cork, The Model in Sligo, the Complex in Dublin and we also held an online event.
We found it really inspiring to hear the amazing work that people are doing locally and beyond, from EDI policy work to inclusive arts practices in Ireland. We had presentations from circus artist and director, Fadi Zmorrod; visual artist and facilitator, Tara Carroll; Mags O’ Sullivan of Cork Traveller Women's Network; Ciara Gallagher of Kids' Own; and Karen Aguiar of Go Dance for Change.
If you didn’t get a chance to meet with us at any of these events and would still like to chat to us, please do reach out! Contact details for all the EDI team can be found on the Arts Council's website.
Ongoing
work
We’ve also been very busy as
well over the past few months with Stage 1 of our EDI implementation plan. The
20 projects in this stage are well underway, with several research projects
beginning, training planned, and evaluations of our processes getting started. For
a reminder of the Stage 1 projects, check out the Implementation
Plan.
