In March 2019 the Arts Council launched its new Equality, Human Rights and Diversity (EHRD) policy which proposes positive policy measures to promote equality of opportunity, access and outcomes for all those living in Ireland regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, civil or family status, religion, age, disability, race or membership of the Traveller community, with socio-economic background included as a tenth ground. In a bid to guarantee that the policy would be both living and pro-active an initial three-year action plan was incorporated into the policy to ensure its immediate implementation.
A key corporate action within this action plan is to create a dedicated full-time Equality, Diversity and Inclusion position within the Arts Council within the next three years. In the interim however, it proposed that a Project Lead be appointed to work to immediately action the plan and drive the policy forward.
The Arts Council is seeking to engage the services of a suitably qualified Project Lead to implement this work programme.
In line with its policy, the Arts Council is committed to ensuring that it takes positive measures to promote equality of opportunity for all those living in Ireland, regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, civil or family status, religion, age, disability, race or membership of the Traveller Community. Furthermore, the Arts Council notes the ground of socio-economic background as a further basis for which equality of opportunity must be guaranteed. The Arts Council therefore welcomes tenders for this work from suppliers that are representative of the diversity of Irish society, including but not limited to any of the characteristics outlined above.
The deadline for submissions is Wednesday 29 May and can be made here.
